Dayglass for iOS — Privacy Policy
Shosin Labs, an independent software studio (hereinafter the "Developer"), hereby establishes this Privacy Policy (hereinafter this "Policy") with respect to the handling of information in connection with the application Dayglass (hereinafter the "Application"), an application for counting the days since or until a date and keeping photographs, videos, voice recordings and text on the dates of those days.
Article 1 (Purpose)
This Policy sets forth the information handled by the Application, the places in which such information is stored, the extent to which any such information is made available to the Developer or to any third party, and the means available to the User with respect to such information.
Article 2 (Definitions)
In this Policy, the following terms shall have the meanings set forth below:
- (a) "User" means any person who installs or uses the Application;
- (b) "Days" means the days the User creates in the Application, together with their names, dates, settings, reminders and covers;
- (c) "Entries" means the photographs, videos, voice recordings, text and stickers the User adds to a date of a Day; and
- (d) "User Data" means the Days, the Entries and the settings of the Application.
Article 3 (No Collection of Information)
The Application does not require or offer a user account, contains no advertising, offers no purchases, and does not track the User across applications or websites. The Application contains no analytics, advertising or crash-reporting software, and collects no usage data, diagnostic data, identifier of the device or location of the device.
The Developer does not operate any server for the Application. User Data is never transmitted to the Developer, and the Developer has no access to it, whether on the device of the User or in the cloud storage of the User described in the Article entitled "Storage and Backup".
User Data may include information the User regards as sensitive, such as a day concerning the health of the User or of a family member. Such information is handled in the same manner as all other User Data: it remains on the device and in the cloud storage of the User, and is not made available to the Developer or to any third party by the Application.
Article 4 (Access to Functions of the Device)
The Application uses the following functions of the device only when the User uses the feature concerned, and only for the purpose stated:
- (a) Photographs and videos: the User chooses photographs and videos with the photo picker provided by the operating system, and the Application receives only the items so chosen. The Application does not read the photo library of the User. When the User saves a collage, the Application adds that image to the photo library and does not read anything therefrom.
- (b) Microphone: the microphone is used only while the User records a voice recording for an Entry.
- (c) Notifications: reminders of the Days are scheduled on the device by the Application and are delivered by the operating system; no reminder is sent through any server.
- (d) Biometric authentication: where the User turns on the app lock, the Application asks the operating system to verify the User by face, fingerprint or the passcode of the device. The verification is carried out by the operating system, and the Application receives only whether it succeeded.
The Application does not use the camera, the location of the device, the contacts of the User, or any other protected function of the device.
Article 5 (Storage and Backup)
User Data is stored on the device of the User. Widgets of the Application read User Data from the device in order to display it.
In the iOS version of the Application, where the User is signed in to iCloud, User Data is synchronised through the private database of the User's own iCloud account (CloudKit), so that it can be kept across the devices of the User and restored on a new device. Such data is held by Apple under the User's iCloud account, is subject to the terms between the User and Apple, and is not accessible to the Developer. Where the User is not signed in to iCloud, User Data remains on the device only.
The User may export all or part of the User Data to a file. Such a file is created on the device and is sent only to the destination the User chooses.
Days and Entries the User deletes are kept under "Recently deleted" for thirty (30) days, during which the User may restore them, and are then deleted permanently.
Article 6 (Feedback)
Where the User chooses to send feedback, the Application opens the email application of the User with a message addressed to the Developer. The Developer receives only the message the User sends, together with the email address from which it is sent, and uses them solely to read and reply to that message.
Article 7 (Children)
The Application is not directed to children. As the Application collects no information from any User, it does not collect information from children.
Article 8 (Deletion of Information)
The User may delete any Day or Entry within the Application, and the uninstallation of the Application deletes all data stored by the Application on the device of the User.
User Data synchronised to iCloud may be deleted by the User in the iCloud storage settings of the device, where the data of the Application is listed under its name.
As the Developer holds no User Data, the Developer is unable to delete, restore or provide any User Data on request.
Article 9 (Amendment of this Policy)
The Developer may amend this Policy from time to time. In the event of any such amendment, the Developer shall revise the date of last update indicated at the top of this page.
Article 10 (Contact)
Inquiries concerning this Policy shall be directed to the Developer at support@shosin-labs.com.
