House rules

The parts we will not trade.

  1. 01

    On-device by default

    Recording, transcription, your library, your records: the work happens on your phone, and what stays there stays there. When something does have to leave, the app says so before it goes, and the privacy policy names it.

  2. 02

    No advertising. Ever.

    No ads in any app, no advertising identifier, and no data brokered to anyone — on iPhone and on Android alike.

  3. 03

    Bought once, not rented

    Where an app has a paid version it is a one-time purchase, and the free version stays usable forever rather than turning into a trial. Nothing you already made is ever taken hostage.

  4. 04

    Answerable in writing

    Every app has a feedback form that reaches a person, and every privacy policy on this site describes what the app actually does.

What the studio actually does.

iPhone

Apps that feel at home on iPhone: home-screen and lock-screen widgets, and shortcuts that work with Siri.

Android

The same apps on Android, with the same features and home-screen widgets, rather than a reduced port.

Online only when needed

A few features need the internet, such as optional cloud transcription and the feedback form. Anything the phone can do by itself, it does by itself.
