Shosin Labs

Shosin Labs is an independent software studio. We are not a consultancy and we do not take client work: we make our own apps, publish them ourselves, and keep them running. That is the whole business, and it is why the apps have no advertising to sell and no data to broker — there is nobody to sell it to.

We keep the catalog small on purpose, so that every app in it can be finished, kept current and answered for.

Each app is one product on both platforms, so a feature means the same thing on an iPhone and on an Android phone instead of drifting into two products with one name.

We treat privacy as part of the design rather than a setting: no advertising identifier, nothing collected that is not needed, and the privacy policy updated whenever what an app does changes.

No advertising. No selling, renting or brokering personal data. No subscriptions for things that should be bought once. No dark patterns in a cancel flow, because there is no cancel flow. No feature that quietly starts sending something off your device without the privacy policy saying so first.

Shosin Labs is based in Japan and works in English, Japanese and Chinese. It is an independent studio rather than a registered company, which is exactly what it says on every page here — we would rather be plain about that than borrow a corporate form we do not have.
